Just scored this deck on the bay. Its really a pretty cool deck, with some pretty unique features. The deck does not really have a center rail, but is thckest down the middle with a bevel toward the rails, showing the plys as the deck gets thinner towards the edges. It also has a wedge tail, with a solid wedge under the two top plys. Anybody have some info on these decks? Set up ideas?!?

Nice deck! Saw that on the bay, but wasn't allowed to bid as an international bidder! Stone Age...

Here, that's all I could find to Functional Design:

A skid/lapper ad...

...and this BIN, if you should be looking for a sticker to add...

I'm pretty sure I've seen an ad in a vintage Skateboarder Magazine, but couldn't find it. I'll go through again...

I have a different sticker. Looks like someone kinda borrowed the winged murf design. I think I remember Moses Padilla was a team rider?

Had an old friend from Skatercross, Shane "Marlin" Reed, that rode for them. They weren't around very long, as I recall...

hey ouch i have a couple, one similar to yours (not beveled though) and a solid oak with wheel wells.  pretty obscure brand, they put ads in skateboarder mag but they were small time compared to many other companies back then...

in regards to set ups, tracker mids and any flatback wheels would be sweet!

here you go ouch, the undrilled deck is just like yours except the beveling, tail is made the same way also.  the solid oak has midtracks and tunnel rocks, as you can see from the date on the pic i've had it for quite some time...

Awesome as always OSR!!! Nice looking decks! I think they were going after the looks of the early Sims stuff. Wood, Logos, Logo colors. Imitation and flatery! and SPinVB, thanks for the PM!

There's one in Vol. 4, #8 (March 78). More I know but that one for sure.

Blake - I'm wondering if your deck is one that someone did some surgery on at some point judging by the slightly wonky line of the sanding.

Hey Tony - I see what you mean but I think that's the way they're supposed to look, judging from the ad in Skateboarder. There's a pic of a deck just like Blake's.
