I just got a friendly PM asking for the whole story on my Jay Adams.  So here it is.  I found a guy on craigslist having a moving sale, and he had a bunch of random stuff posted including skateboards.  I went to his house to buy a couple others, and he had a wagon just full of 70s boards.  He started digging through it like there was something he was looking for, and after quite a while ( it was dark in his garage with no lights) he pulls out the Jay Adams. I didnt even know about it, I was coming to buy a couple beater pigs for 25 bucks a piece.  So for 100 bucks, he hooked it up.  And I got the Powell Bones wheels from him, and I already had the Trackers.
Turns out the guy was a 70s pro I guess, and still has a pro model on Dreggs.  His name is Kurt "hurricane" Hurley, and he owned a skate shop in Sant Rosa CA since the 70s I guess, and decided to sell everything execpt for a couple surfboards and bicycles and move to Mexico.  Definitely a cool dude.
Probably more than most people wanted to know, but thats the life story of that deck as far as I know it.
Now its just gonna live on my wall wherever I go.

JAY ADAMS by fatoldskater.. BLAH BLAH BLAH    Heard a million of those types of stories happening to others!!!   I am not a 50yr old jealous man mind you!! I attached what I paid $165 for, that I put together myself, and had a beer alone, not with a former professional skater and shop owner like you did!!  Palo Alto sun not the Santa Rosa farm hot sun!! Cheers and thanks for the story.. Keep em coming.. Oh this was one of the last ones sold, I think early-midish 2008... Was it late 2007. His shop went out of biz or just closed down suddenly... Took me about 2 weeks of looking to find this one... Then I mixed and matched Re-issue Tunnel Wheels and
Re-issue Trackers, late 1970s vintage bushings and vintage risers!!

That HAS been mentioned by many but when it comes to "collecting," it's more like obsessed.  I've said it before, I couldn't do this without a lot of help from others!
